Fire Alarm Monitoring is one of the most critical parts of your fire alarm system. Monitoring, whatever method you choose, allows fire alarm signals to be transmitted to an Underwriters Laboratory (UL) listed Central Station. A central station receives signals from your system and alerts the fire department and key property management personnel.
Traditionally, “POTS” (“Plain Old Telephone Service”) lines were the method used for monitoring fire alarm systems. With the proliferation of digital telephone service, other methods must be used. Since the FCC no longer mandates local telephone providers to maintain “POTS”, or copper phone lines, wireless solutions have been developed.
